Windmill Sound Recording Studios Edinburgh offers a full music production service to aspiring bands and musicians from singer-songwriters to bathroom divas, even karaoke singers or as a gift idea for that special occasion.

Windmill Sound is situated just to the south of Edinburgh in Newtongrange, near Dalkeith and suitable for travel from Edinburgh, the Lothians, Borders and anywhere in Scotland in reach of the Edinburgh City Bypass or the A7. See the Contact page for maps, directions and bus routes.

Windmill Sound takes on only a limited number of recording and production projects and is then devoted to them, so that you always feel that we have invested in your music.

The Recording Studio has extremely able and qualified staff, not just technicians but musicians - so you will notice the difference.

We are now an award-winning recording studio, our clients having swept the boards at the 2008 Edinburgh Acoustic Idols Awards.

We also offer a service for arranging music, and composing original music for Film, TV, Radio, and media.

Recent news of all things musical from The Miller.

• Just in - a Laney Lionheart - small valve amplifier which does everything - probably the most versatile valve amp on the planet.
• The summer has seen the 'Lost In History' album released by Machar Granite, work on dance tunes with Caroline Gilmour, more tracks with Lindsay Sugden, and a host of others Installation of further acoustic enhancements to the live room.
• March Sessions include Silvern, CCJ, Faithful Narrator, Mark Roper, and Lindsay Sugden and the Storm.
• Just purchased - Focusrite Liquid4Pre - 4 channels of boutique mic-premaps.
• The album for Poppy songstress Caroline Gilmour has just been completed and was released at the start of February.
• Windmill Sound is serious about supporting singer-songwriters and helps out at many music evenings and open mic nights including 'Out of the Bedroom', and 'The Listening Room' which came 1st and 2nd place as the best music nights at the 2008 Edinburgh Acoustic Idol Awards. She recently was featured on BBC Radio 6.
• Just about all the other awards were won by Windmill Sound regular Lindsay Sugden. Best CD (recorded here), Best Song (On the wire) (and 3rd with Bernard Drake), and finally Best Act.
• Another Windmill Sound customer causing a buzz in Scotland is Kiddo (now called OK Social Club). They recently supported Dirty Pretty Things, got a write-up in NME and are going onto better things - hopefully charting sometime soon.
